  1. Building Code / Service ID should be made INACTIVE

    So any Service Code that is not longer in use should be made inactive, So it wont appear in Building Code, but it wont delete them off the invoice. it will just say it is inactive

  2. Required inspections should appear on the Building Permit

    It would be helpful if the required inspections appeared on the Building Permit. This way everyone is aware of what inspections are required and when they're supposed to be scheduled.

  3. Include Work Type in the permit pick list

    Include Work Type in the permit pick list. A single property may have multiple permits over the years - the current search doesn't tell you what a permit was for. It would be much faster to see the one you want without having to open several different permits.

  4. Contractor exp date update

    Have the ability to update the Contractor License Expiration directly from the Building Code tab when entering contractor on a new permit entry. (window appears that tells you contractor license expired) There should be a button or the availability to click right within the message to bring you to that contractors info, edit, update exp and save.
    Eliminating the steps that you have to go in to: Billing/Misc AR/Customers/Customer Main/Search Contractor.

  5. In the pick list, either by Dist/Acct or Location, please add a column that shows the Work Type.

    In the pick lists, either by Dist/Acct or Location, please add a column that shows Work Type. If a property has mutiple permits issued over a period of several years, it would be nice to be able to see what the permit was for instead of having to open each one to find the one you're looking for.

  6. Open permits should show within the tax module.

    Open permits should show within the tax module, same as the Violations do. Many incomplete permits are not being flagged when a property changes hands - new owners are being burdened with permits that never received final Use & Occupancy approval under the prior owner.

  7. Add Use Group, Subdivision, & Construction Type to Tax Account

    When adding a permit, MCSJ carries over the properties general information from the Tax Account such as property owner info and property location. State property import files often include additional information that is required to be entered on Permit such as the use group. Add the additional fields to the Tax Account so it can carry over to the permit when the property is selected. Users entering the permit may not always know exactly which group or codes it needs to be classified as. Other items that were should store in Tax so it copies over, Subdivision, Use Type, Construction…

  8. Payment Posting

    Create the ability to post more than one payment to a permit within the same batch, so the same invoice #.
    Currently, if a customer makes 2 payments to one permit, within the same batch you can not post the additional payment. You have to close that batch then go back to the permit, pull up by invoice #, then pay balance.

  9. Use Group

    You need to create another (2nd) field for additional use group(s) on a property. Some Businesses have "mixed" (more than one) use group.

  11. Add More Fields for Building Codes

    Some permits have more than 5 building codes, (ie, building, fire, plumbing, electrical, alteration, addition, mechanical etc.) and currently we would have to invoice half of them then add an update to the permit to issue the rest of the permit. It would be beneficial to add up to 10 building codes instead of 5.

  12. Inspection Schedule

    While on the inspection schedule page, we currently do not have the ability to block out time for meetings, vacations etc. because there is no permit number associated with it. It would be helpful when scheduling inspections to see this information.
